Planning and Building your website

Home page- The home page that I liked the most was Callie's it's something very simple. She has a white background color, with a nice photo of her. It's a nice simple font and easy to read. I tried to do something similar with my own website. about me/bio- Ali Abdaal about me page was also short and simple. Easy to read and easy to navigate back to the home page. The only think I didn't like was that his bio was way to short. He only talked about him being a doctor for 1 year. portfolio- I liked the way Anna Ellenberger displayed her work in her website. The layout of the pictures are nice. She made in look like an online gallery. This is something I tried to implement into my website aswell. But they were a few that threw my off because of the colors they used. Martin Boehme used a purple background with white,black, and green font which threw me off. social media research page- Anthony Wiktor research page was fantastic. He even displayed a video with his research. The words he used also had an animation as you scrolled down.

 Hello, My name is Malik Shabazz. I recently went on the the website https://brandyourself.com/old-accounts to determine what my status is online. I have nothing that damages my reputation and I've cleaned up things that have my name in it. There are other people with my name and are associated with bad things, and I've improved the google search to remove those things when you looking for me. I'm a hard worker and ready to work for a great company.

I took this photo looking out the window in my room.  You don't really have any negative space in this picture. You have a downward view looking at the front of Brown. 

I took this photo in my pod's bathroom. There's a pattern in this picture because of the tiles on the floor that repeat. This photo is kind of dull, there aren't any bright colors that make this picture stand out.

I took this photo standing outside of Brown. You have a high viewpoint looking up at the sky. There's a lot of negative space because there wasn't really any clouds out.  The bright sky makes the picture stand out a little more than the other two.

I also took this photo standing outside. You have a picture looking at Ball residence.  You have multiple colors within in this picture that gives it a nice balance.

 Going through the process of writing a social media bio. I wanted to make it short and simple and to give an idea of what my page will consist of, so I came up with this. "Your favorite daily news sports page. Black Mirror analysis

 Everything is based off of ratings on a 1-5 scale.

The main character is trying to do everything in her power to get a 4.5 rating to buy a new spot

She so caught in comparing herself to others, that she doesn't even realize what it's doing to her mentally.

She constantly acts fake to help get a higher rating. 

Inside China's Vast New Experiment in Social Ranking

    The fiction future is already the present the article states "Cash, Liu could see, had been largely replaced by two smartphone apps: Alipay and WeChat Pay." The world as we known is being ran by digital devices. If you have a digital device you can pay for things without cash, which means you don't need cash or a wallet. The article talks about how China used a social credit system that gives you an estimated credit score. But in order to use the app you have to basically give up all your information. The narrator stated this "Alipay knows that at 1pm on the afternoon of August 26, I rented an Ofo brand bike outside Shanghai's former French Concession and rode north, parking it across from Jing 'an Temple" This is currently happening everywhere. They are ranked by their credit score and get certain perks if they have a high score. Digital devices are constantly taking time from us the narrator stated he began to check his phone obsessively to see if his score was getting higher. People that had high credit scores can get huge loans, go to luxury hotels, and could even skip security in the airport. People would try to do everything in their power to get a higher score. But things that were bad about the system is that you can get penalized, people who cheated during a test were penalized, legal issues you were penalized, and even being friends with people who had lower scores would penalize you. What I would do differently and is to give a proper warning to people about what the app may do with your information. I also wouldn't penalize people for things like cheating on a test, but I would penalize people who have done serious crimes.

Real- life Black Mirror:

China has already deemed the future as the present. " China's controversial social credit system – which ranks all of its 1.4 billion citizens on their behavior in real-time – is real, and it's on track to launch by 2020." This is a similar system that was being used in the black mirror episode. China has plenty of cameras around so that can constantly track you and what you're doing. I feel like this is a bad idea because it can cause people to act fake towards others, to maintain a high score. It also isn't fair for the people who doesn't want to be a part of this and still get penalized and now they can't send their kid to a private school or get a loan to purchase a house. I feel this is the starting point of something terrible. As the years go own, they could make this stricter and it could impact your life heavily. For example, in the black mirror episode people could rate you immediately, if they added something like this it could cause people to go crazy trying to maintain a high score or even hurt themselves because of a low score.

I don't feel good about this information at all. I want my brand to help people receive sports news. I don't want to invade their privacy or rate them on anything they do.
